How I may be able to help

At times, life circumstances or events can feel overwhelming to navigate alone, but too much or too difficult to share with those closest to us in our everyday life. Perhaps you are facing new challenges, feeling stuck with something that has troubled you for a long time, or adjusting to a sudden change or loss.

Whatever you are experiencing, sharing your story in a safe, supportive and confidential space can bring clarity, relief, and a deeper sense of understanding.

I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, in which you can feel accepted, respected and heard, and where you can talk freely about whatever feels most important to you.

Founded on a relationship of trust, my role is that of fellow traveller and facilitator as you explore and find the answers that I believe we all have within us, when our fundamental need for true acceptance begins to be met.

About Me

I have come to this profession through my own life experience, and that of those closest to me, calling me to a more meaningful path that I truly believe in. My formal training, as a BACP-registered Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor, aligns with my lifelong fundamental belief that, given the right circumstances, everyone can heal and move towards manifesting their true potential.

I have many years of professional experience supporting people through difficult times, as well as navigating my own. This has confirmed for me how important it is to feel truly seen, heard and accepted, particularly if this has not happened in our past or is lacking in our present lives.

Through building an authentic and trusting relationship between us, you can work towards greater self-understanding, resilience and the freedom to be more fully yourself, both as an individual and in your relationship with others.

Person-centred experiential therapy

Person-Centred Experiential therapy views people as unique and whole individuals, rather than a collection of symptoms or labels. It is founded on the belief that we all have an innate drive towards healing, which may have been thwarted by circumstances in our early or current lives.

We may struggle to thrive if our fundamental needs for connection, acceptance, love and compassion are not met, but deep down “it is the client who knows”. The therapist’s job is fundamentally about giving you a safe, compassionate space to feel heard and understood. This enables you to gently explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace, allowing you to connect more deeply with yourself.

This approach helps you discover your strengths, build self-acceptance, and find new ways of moving through life’s challenges. Many people find that it brings greater clarity, healing, and a stronger sense of confidence to live more authentically and in tune with who they truly are.

Fees And Booking

Because the relationship with the therapist is so fundamental to this type of therapy, I will not be the right therapist for everyone. I normally find that people can only sense whether I and this way of working feel right for them through actually meeting, so I therefore offer a free initial half-hour conversation – online or by phone – to help you decide if you would like to continue.

Thereafter, my fees are £45 for a 50 minute session, with some slots available for sliding-scale concessionary rates if your financial situation is an obstacle. I currently practise face-to-face in Portslade, minutes from the A27, alternatively I offer on-line or telephone sessions.
